Since its existence in 1992, ¡Arte Flamenco! Dance School has been dedicated to the art of traditional Flamenco Dance. The teacher for the school is artistic director Elena La Comadre. Her continuing goal is to develop her dancers and students in preparation for performing initiatives. Committed to both company and school, La Comadre strives to produce works with honesty, integrity and elegance.
On March 14th, 2020 Toronto went into lock down in order to curve the rising cases due to COVID. People of all walks of life, businesses, communities, places of worships were and continue to be greatly affected. Our lives have been disrupted, changing how we view our normal life and perhaps how we have taken so much for granted.
As director, my artistic goal is to present traditional Flamenco/Spanish works that depict the elegance and richness of Spain. In addition to presenting traditional works, I am passionate about creating works that embrace the idea of Flamenco dance Theatre.
